Why You Should Rewrite Your PLR Articles
You’ve gathered some PLR content. But how do you use it to best advantage while avoiding roadblocks? Search engines are programed to feed relevant results to surfers. To do that, they have to scan the contents on the page followed by a lot of other things. If you perceive to think that by having the same content on a couple different sites gives you two chances to be ranked high in the results, think again. They got wise to that trick a long time ago.
Duplicate Content Penalty
Search engines have complicated algorithms that can be difficult to reverse engineer. But one thing is certain: if the exact same content is used across multiple websites, you can suffer a duplicate content penalty. The best way to deal with that issue is to rewrite the PLR content. It might take a bit more work, but it’s a goin g to pay off.
How Much Change Is Needed
While it is unclear to know exactly how much to change, but even changing only 10% of the PLR content can easily put you in the safety zone. Changing only 50 words out of a 500 word article, is less than one paragraph’s worth over all. Pretty easy.

Tailoring content has another advantage. By modifying the PLR article to something that sounds more like how you would write, you can give your site a unique ‘flavor’.

When you do that with a lot of articles, you are guaranteed to stand apart your site from your competitor. To avoid the duplicate content issue altogether try and write each article from scratch. Not everyone has the interest or ability to rewrite content, and it can be very time consuming. To run a successful site, you have lots of things to do every day. Whatever time you spend writing, you’re not doing those other things.
It can be much tougher to start from a blank page. It’s a lot easier to re-write something than to write from just a topic idea. The content that’s on the page already promotes you to think of different alternatives, like changing an example here and a phrase there is easy to do.
Creating Backlinks
What counts is quality. You may not have the ability or interest to write great content, content that attracts visitors and backlinks. Even if you can, it takes time to do well. you’ll end up with content that wasn’t cleaned up, if you don’t take the time. That turns people off. Not a good business strategy.
Make Sure You Polish It
To avoid a duplicate content penalty and make it your own it’s much quicker and easier to modify good quality private label content, than it is to fix up junk. You can polish good chrome to a shine in a few minutes. If it’s totally rusty, you’ll spend all day!
