Find some great use with PLR articles
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Many people think when they are looking to build up links to their site that they have to write every article by hand and it needs to be original. With somewhere like Qondio, Ezine Articles, or Associated Content to name a few, the answer is 100% yes, those are premier properties to publish on and require totally new articles written by you. Something that is often not covered by most is the huge selection of PLR written articles available to jump start the writing process. PLR stands for private label rights, and they allow you to republish them as you see fit and require no acknowledgement to the original author.
You can find PLR articles all over the net, some are offered for sale as a bundle, others you can get as a bonus for buying software or services, some you can get for free. Now, most of these will do you no good to just publish as is. They may have been utilized by thousands of other writers looking to get links to their site. Occasionally you get lucky and they have never been used. The ones that have very little use or never been used are great for rewriting andsubmission to an article directory.
What I usually do is to take the 2 sentences of the article and one at a time, paste them into Google and search, with quotes around the sentence so it has to be an exact match. If nothing comes up - Bingo! you now have something you can use with no rewriting, Google has no record of that article. Should a lot of results come back, you will need to make sure you do a good job of rewriting. If a lot of results come on the screen, pass on that article and find another. I usually rewrite sentence by sentence so I have a totally new article, but it closely resembles the old article in topic and flow. Even if you have to rewrite, its way faster most of the time than creating an entirely new article, unless you happen to be an expert on the topic of the article. If that was the case, you probably would not need PLR articles.
Where the use of PLR articles is most handy, is in the creation of niche sites, such as fly fishing, composting, glass blowing or other topic which interests you, but you are by no means an expert or may know nothing about. Someone else has given you a jump start with an article which you can insert your link into and publish, whether it needs to be rewritten or not. I usually publish these types of articles to Article Friendly article directory sites, there are thousands of them out there. Article Friendly is a widely distributed article directory script that many people have purchased to run an article directory on their websites, they are easy to open an account at, and when you publish its live most of the time right away.
You will want to have a variety of account names and many different AF sites using various emails so that your publication of articles is mixed up and it does not look like the same person is publishing all the same articles on the same general topic. In the beginning, it will take some time to get your accounts all set up to use, but if you want there are always other tools to help speed up the process. That topic goes beyond the topic of this article, but I will write about it another time.
