External Links + Article Marketing - Important Marketing Tips

Monday, May 17th, 2010

When most of us hear “learn how to make money online” we’ve learned to run the other way. There are so many scams out there it’s easier to give up than get involved in yet one. But don’t give up yet! Writing is a great way to make some money online, and you don’t need to be a degreed journalist with newspaper experience, nor do you need to be an experienced reporter. You just need to be able to put a few paragraphs together on a subject that people are interested in. Nowadays, writing has become the premier marketing tool - not just an entertainment medium. Using external links and article marketing can be a boon to any business, big or small.

The internet provides a wide range of outlets for any level of writing talent. “Article” no longer means a front page news story. It can include anything from consumer product reviews, blogging, news group information, forum postings, website content, and even content for “real” web based publishing houses.

Essentially there are two ways to get noticed online writing articles. You can get paid, or you can do it for free. Each has pros and cons.

Check out some sites where you can submit content for free. These are ideal for article marketing purposes. These frequently offer more benefits, too. You usually get a byline, you can post a bio, and you can link to your website. This is a great opportunity for some self promotion - free! You do need to write about something, though. You just can’t do lengthy sales pitches. Write about topics that are germane to your business. You will be looked on as an expert on the subject.

Pretend you make gift baskets. You could write articles on how to make your own gift baskets and give readers ideas on how to decorate them and sell them. Of course, each article would have your bio talking about your company and it would have an external link to your website.

Also check out sites that do pay. They are usually a little less generous when it comes to giving you a byline or a link.

Not many people get rich writing. Even Edgar Allen Poe died a bitter penniless man. With article writing, it’s all about marketing yourself and your business. Even if it’s not your own business! With the invention of internet based email came the idea of viral marketing. Hotmail was the first to put ads on the bottom of every email sent using their service. The idea caught on. Now, everyone who has anything to sell or promote should add links to every email he sends.

Are you a mortgage broker? Hair dresser? Computer repair tech? There’s nothing like adding a link on your emails with either special promotions or a link to your website. You will get customers!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

When most of us hear “learn how to make money online” we’ve learned to run the other way. There are so many scams out there it’s easier to give up than get involved in yet one. But don’t give up yet! Writing articles is no longer about getting the latest stories into the latest editions of the local newspapers, all written by well paid reporters. Things have really changed now with the internet. You don’t need to be a big name pro to get your writings accepted and recognized. Writing is a now a marketing tool. Learning about external links and article marketing can help grow your business.

The internet provides a wide range of outlets for any level of writing talent. An “article” can mean anything from a blog, home pages for websites, entire website content, sales letters, and even real stories and articles for online publishers.

Essentially there are two ways to get noticed online writing articles. You can get paid, or you can do it for free. Each has pros and cons.

You can submit to sites that don’t pay you but they do give the opportunity to talk  about your services and your business; not in a salesy kind of way, but as a kind of expert  on the topic. At the end of your article you should place a link to your own website for the  readers to either get more information or turn into paying customers. This is where the payoff comes in article marketing.

For example, if you are a sports therapist you might want to write about how athletes can prevent injuries when working out. At the end of each article you should add your bio and a link to your website. Or You could write articles on how to make your own gift baskets and give readers ideas on how to decorate them and sell them.

However, writing for the internet isn’t about getting rich writing, per se. It’s all about advertising what you have to offer. Try some viral marketing with your emails, too. Put a link at the bottom just like Hotmail has done for years, and direct readers to your site or at least your phone.

Are you a mortgage broker? Hair dresser? Computer repair tech? There’s nothing like adding a link on your emails with either special promotions or a link to your website. You will get customers!

Driving Traffic To Your Website

Friday, November 27th, 2009

You may have a online business that sells other people’s products or your own products. Whatever your online business is, we need to generate a lot of traffic to our website. Of course, you want traffic that are interested with your product or services.

When I started studying internet marketing, I tried many methods of getting traffic to my website. Not a lot of the software and services offered to me had good effects.

The traffic tactics that I have proven to work well are listed below:

* Linking

Text links can either be paid or free. Adding links in e-zines or in other websites are some examples of paid linking methods. Since this method will cost you money, make sure to do your research first before leasing or purchasing link space. For ezines, make sure they have a good number of subscribers before you advertise.

One of the unpaid models is through article marketing . If you keep doing this, it will definitely make a good impact in your business. Keep in mind, your articles should be relevant and address the subject matter of your site and products.

* Pay Per Click (PPC)

If you have the money to invest in your advertising, advertise through pay per click. If you use pay per click, you create a compeling advertisement for your target visitors and bid on the keywords that you want. You will need a lot of time and energy for research and monitoring if you do this manually and do not know the google secret loophole bonus materials. I would advise that you read your affiliate programs and pay per click rules before doing pay per click.

* SEO

Search Engine Optimization is basically the optimization of your web pages so that you can get a decent ranking by the search engines. Although you get free traffic with SEO, optimizing your website can be time consuming.

These are some of the effective ways to get traffic to your website.
