An exercise program is essential to your health and should be a regular part of everyone’s life. Walking is one of the easiest ways to get started. You do not need a gym membership or any special equipment to get started. It is as simple as putting on a good pair of walking shoes and going out the door. No matter your fitness goals, you cannot go wrong by taking a brisk walk. Getting through a long day is that much easier when you are wearing a pair of Dankso Shoes.
These days there are many options for walking. A treadmill will work any time of the day or night if it is in your home. Most cities have locations that have outdoor walking tracks that offer the freedom and serenity of the outdoors. If you are a person that has 30 pounds or less to lose, you can most likely do it by adding a 30 minute walk to your daily schedule.
If you are person that has not exercised in quite some time, you should begin by walking at least 3 times per week for about 20 minutes. Over time, you will want to increase the number of walks per week to at least 5 and the duration to 45 minutes or more. Walking is an aerobic exercise and it is essential, but your program should also consist of strength exercises to maintain lean muscle and stretching exercises to stay limber.
The nice thing about walking is it takes no special equipment, unless you count a comfortable pair of shoes. I enjoy walking in the park, but there are also a number of short paths that are designed to for walkers. In the winter, I walk in a mall that is nearby. It is empty much of the time and the atmosphere is very unique there. I pick places that motivate me and make me feel good. I am more inclined to be there regularly, if I like the atmosphere. I even enjoy walking in the water from time to time.
